Lochburn Middle School

Creating Promising Futures

Principal Message

Welcome Back, Lochburn Middle School Community!

Meet Our 2026–2027 Administrative Leadership Team

Principal Carla Estes

Carla Estes, Co-Principal

My name is Carla Estes, and I am honored to share that this is my 6th year serving as Lochburn’s Proud Principal. Every new school year brings a fresh wave of energy, promise, and opportunity, and our entire staff has been working hard to prepare a welcoming, high-achieving environment where every single student can thrive.

As we kick off this school year, I am looking forward to meeting our new families, re-connecting with returning ones, and collaborating closely with you throughout the year. School transformation and student success happen best when home and school work as partners. Together, we will focus on continuing our academic growth, maintaining high expectations, and ensuring our school is a safe, supportive, and joyful place to learn. Above all, it is my privilege to serve our school community each and every day.

Co-Principal Phil Willenbrock

Phil Willenbrock, Co-Principal

I am fortunate to join the Lochburn Administrative team for 2026-2027. I've lived in Washington State for the past 25 years and have been a professional educator for nearly 40 years at high school and collegiate levels. I am proud to be the father of an active-duty Airman in the United State Air Force and serve in the Clover Park School District.

I will strive to see our students as who they are and become aware of and celebrate their unique individuality while maintaining the strong community feel of Lochburn Middle School.

Cierra Ghafari

Cierra Ghafari, Assistant Principal

I am from Tukwila, Washington, a bulldog for life. Outside of school, my husband and I are proud parents to two energetic children, ages 3 and 5, who keep life busy, fun, and full of adventure. I am incredibly excited to begin this next chapter as a member of this year's administrative team. I look forward to collaborating with staff, supporting students and families, and helping to create a positive, inclusive school community where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed.

Demeco Walters, Dean

I am excited to be a part of Lochburn’s administrative team and look forward to a productive and positive partnership that will ensure success for our students.  A little about myself, I am a native of Tacoma WA and have lived in the Lakewood/ Steilacoom area for the past thirteen years.  I have spent the last 20 years serving as a community advocate, sports coach/ mentor, political activist, behavioral interventionist, and special education teacher.  I am a firm believer that collaboration is key to student success.  I intend to assist the current administration team in fostering a school culture that focuses on community and belonging.
